These amazing little artists accomplished this incredible piece at a 2hr birthday party held at our studio this past Saturday the 7th. The girls were guided through a lesson, step-by-step, using different mixed media techniques and wow!! So cool!!

Kids have been having a blast and really revealing themselves as true artist at this art camp. We are so proud of what can come out of these little yet very large minds when it comes to art. They are focused and engaged. Check out their masterpieces!

Awesome artist teachers Marcella Bingham and Margaret Becker are getting ready for a little art show, along with the best work by our students. A few guest artists will also be present so stay tuned.

Two Sundays ago, most precisely on the past February 26th, 40 kids with their parents came to Awesome Artist to make ceramic crafts to be given out as gifts to the Wounded Warriors Project. The group came with their church, St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Coronado. As were rolling out slabs of clay, they were cutting them into various shapes, with cookie cutters, and then painting them with paints that go on the clay before the first fire (we used Duncan EZ paints). The themes included airplanes. patriotic shapes and crosses. We were all very happy with the opportunity to contribute with such a special cause and the kids had a blast!

Our January and February artists of the month have been chosen! Amazing artists Maria Diaz and Carly Thoms, January's and February's awarded members, will receive a $25 gift certificate each, and their work will be posted on our website for a whole month!

Our new guest instructor Sarah Cusey taught her first class at Awesome Artist today. She introduced the students to Matisse and his style, followed by a sea-life themed collage using different papers and patterns, and exploring the possibilities of positive and negative space usage. All kids were content with their projects, and so were we with our new Teacher! Welcome Sarah!
